3:00 pm-4:30 pm

enso Retreat Centre, Salt spring Island, BC

sound healing brings together a collection of sacred instruments - singing bowls, bells, gongs, flutes, and voice - to give rise to an ambient, vibrational soundscape. in this divine container of sound, your energy comes into harmony with the energy around you, alchemizes a profound space in which you can access deeper healing.

what is sound healing?

Everything in the universe is attuned to a specific frequency or vibration. For human beings existing in a modern world, we are receptive to the energetic frequencies around us. Perpetual exposure to stressful situations, whether past or present, actual or imagined, has an impact on our own vibrational energy.

Sound healing - sometimes also referred to as sound bathing - is a holistic practice facilitated by trained musicians and sound healers, who play instruments that can recalibrate the energetic frequency in a contained space. The deep vibrational sounds have a profound effect on the human body, bringing us back to a state of harmonious calm.

what are the benefits of sound healing?

Attuning ourselves to a more harmonious frequency can help to address the conditions as listed above, and can also help us to:

·       gain more clarity, insight

·       be liberated from toxic or repetitive thought patterns

·       let go of the things that are weighing us down or disrupting our sense of peace

·       alleviate certain types of pain or discomfort

·       complement other healing modalities to cultivate more receptivity

·       shift perspective

·       cultivate deeper awareness

·       access the dream space

·       bring us to the present moment

·       facilitate a more meditative state

·       feel more grounded, connected

·       free us to pursue possibility

what kinds of instruments are used for sound healing?

The most common instruments used for sound healing therapy are:

·       singing bowls

·       gongs

·       bells

·       tuning forks

Many other types of instruments can be used in sound healing journeys when wielded by skilled musicians, including flutes, guitars, harmoniums, hand pans, and hang (or other melodic) drums. The human voice can also be used to elevate a sound healing practice.

In this 90-minute group sessions, you will be invited to relax into receptive, meditative state. Your journey is guided by Erin Routly, RMT and Sound Healer. She guides the group with visualization, and invites each participant to experience a journey inwards, experiencing the elements (earth, air, fire, and water) through a vibrational soundscape

This session is part of the weekend Sheer Joy Yoga & Meditation Retreat. We have a few spaces left for the retreat.

Erin Routly is joining our retreat lineup again this year at enso. She is offering this unique experience of a soundscape journey like no other.

Meet Erin:

I am an alchemist of healing.

I believe that we each have the capacity to be complicit in our own healing, and I have dedicated my career to guiding others towards wellness. We often prioritize healing our physical bodies, but I believe we must also commit to healing our minds and spirits in order to be fully well. Integrating a variety of modalities to address the wholeness of the healing journey is a ritual in alchemy.
