Are you a woman desiring more confidence and comfort in their own skin? This all-inclusive experience is for women who have dealt with years of trying to lose weight, being obsessed with their body image, years of dieting and spending time, money and energy on trying to look a certain way. Do you suffer or deal with:

  • negative body image that prevents you from expressing yourself, taking risks, moving forward in your life and feeling confident in yourself and abilities

  • negative and unhelpful critical self-talk

  • not being free to or able to identify, express or show emotion

  • constant diet/weight gain cycle and hyperfocus about your weight, shape of your body or appearance

  • mom, wife/partner, family, work balance that ‘interferes’ with taking care of yourself and showing up for what you want and need


Well, first off you are NOT alone. A Shade More…Liberated is a retreat designed for you and many women who experience the same challenges in their life. You will be in a safe, nurturing haven with other women to connect with other like-minded souls on a quest to a healthier path. Through our intentional retreat program, you will experience various practices and strategies geared to managing a healthier body image. The HOW of what your doctor or therapist give you advice on what to DO.

Enso Retreat Center allows for healing and self-discovery in a natural tranquil setting surrounded by nature, the ocean, and love. Through a variety of healthy practices for the mind, body, heart and soul your transformation begins. Every detail is carefully facilitated to allow for maximum experience for you. You will experience skillfully conducted circles of connection and activities in the form of:

A Shade More…Liberated is offered to women who want an intimate, unique retreat experience incorporating kundalini yoga, nourishing meals, connecting on a deep level and so much more. (Maximum of 12 participants).

This retreat is for you, if you want to:

• discover challenges and possibilities arising from living a life obsessed with body image and discussing them in a safe and nurturing way
• develop awareness of the emotions that hijack you and ways to tame them to mitigate stress or an unhealthy reaction especially using food or lethargy as a tool to manage stress and suppressing emotions.
• gain fresh perspectives on what interests you and is important to you at this time of your life
• appreciate the gift of vulnerability and connecting with your true self
• self assess key areas of your life and make a plan that is grounded in your values and what matters to you
• learn healing and healthy practices that tap into and spark your creative, beautiful self and nourish your body, mind and soul
• develop an action plan to continue your newly acquired skills and shifting mindset to set you up for success.
 

Your experience will be guided and conducted by the founder of enso Retreat Centre and owner of enso Coaching, Dori Howard. Dori is a master facilitator, professional trauma-informed coach and retreat host/designer with an extensive healthcare and leadership background. Designing a comprehensive, intimate and unique retreat program that focuses on body, mind an soul, Dori has helped hundreds of women make shifts in their life to a healthier, truer self. Dori has partnered with Heather Jacobson, an Empowerment Coach who specializes in helping women ditch chronic dieting, unrealistic beauty ideals, and playing small in their lives Personal Trainer.

Retreat host, Professional Coach, Kundalini Yoga Teacher, Nurse

Dori’s mantra, “it’s all about the learning,” is integrated into all aspects of her life. her experiences in healthcare for over 30 years have brought many lessons of giving, receiving, health and wellness. Her past few years have been a lived experience of cultivating self - compassion. From compassion idiocy to compassion literacy, her view is that there is no magic bullet but rather a range of life practices that can move us ‘a shade more…’ towards wellness and healing. She has created a self-prescribed holistic care plan that includes yoga, meditation, conscious nutrition, hiking, and time in nature in her daily life in order to balance compassion for self and others. The healing environment at enso Retreat Centre, also her private home, on Salt Spring Island has created a safe, holistic space to become a shade more… whole. Dori is a skilled facilitator with extensive experience in leading individual and group learning activities. She is a certified executive coach, trauma-informed coach, RN, and Kundalini yoga instructor. Her passion is creating spaces and experiences for people to reflect, learn and try out new (or re-activate) practices that move them toward life wellness and wholeness. Integrating Kundalini yoga practices into her life led her to become a Level 1 KRI certified teacher. As important as brushing your teeth and washing your face, a daily shower for the mind includes a meditation practice to ease the mind, body and soul to practice self compassion.

Heather Jacobson

Empowerment Coach

Heather Jacobson, an Empowerment Coach who specializes in helping women ditch chronic dieting, unrealistic beauty ideals, and playing small in their lives. She helps women boost their confidence, and break free from chronic guilt, paralyzing fear and outside expectations through her coaching program. Combining Mindset, spiritual health and body image work, she is dedicated to helping women live 3 their lives on their terms. She lives in paradise on Vancouver Island with her husband and 2 kids.

Location and how to get here:

The enso beach house & forest sanctuary is located on tranquil Salt Spring Island, BC - where Zen meets West Coast. This 4.3-acre oceanfront property has stunning sunsets, soothing waves gently rolling into a private smooth stone beach, dense forests of arbutus and fir trees, a babbling brook and close proximity to hiking and the funky town of Ganges.

To get there, you must travel by BC Ferries. Bring your car and/or carpool with other participants. Ferry walk-on is possible and arrangements can be made for transport to the retreat location.
